The movement of birds has long been a subject of fascination and study. Their flight, song, and graceful ability to dance between the earth and the sky make them a symbol of the soul and a reminder of the beauty and breath of the natural world.

Imagination is a powerful tool that allows us to soar beyond the ordinary and the limitations of the body. Like a bird in flight, the imagination is also winged, giving us the capacity to transcend physical boundaries and reach for new heights of creativity and expression.

The yearning for freedom is a deeply human desire that is mirrored in the flight and singing of birds. When we allow ourselves to tap into that same sense of liberation and possibility, we open ourselves up to new worlds of possibility and experience the same joy and wonder that comes from taking flight.

These prints are inspired by The Conference of the Birds, a twelfth-century Persian poem by Sufi poet Farid-ud-din Attar. The allegorical work traces a journey through seven valleys—quest, love, understanding, independence, unity, astonishment, and nothingness—exploring the human struggle for enlightenment.

Attar blends humor and wisdom, the spiritual with the worldly, modeling the soul’s escape from the mind’s rational grasp.

In this ongoing theatre of change, quiet forces meet and shape the world around us. Warm light touches the earth and brings color into view. Movement passes through everything — sometimes seen, sometimes only felt — carrying both change and a sense of continuity.

The sun becomes a simple guide, marking time and direction, while the wind reminds us that nothing stays still for long. There’s a lot we don’t fully understand, and that’s part of it.

So maybe it’s enough to pause here for a moment, and sit with the questions that don’t need answers.

FRAGMENTS is based around the core concept of unity and constant change within the human experience, inspired by Heraclitus' philosophy. The idea that "life is flux" is a central theme throughout these pieces.

The group aims to highlight the notion that all human experiences are characterized by change, which unites us and makes us human. In this perspective, designations are not final, but rather, they are two sides of the same coin that are in constant and eternal change. Day and night, life and death, are all part of our continuous transformation. The composition of opposites sustains everything. Given this constant flux, definitions must remain fluid, and we surrender to the transformative possibilities that arise from life's ever-changing nature.

Seeing life as a river, as vital fluidity in a constant flux between within and without. As human beings, we share the destiny of flowing water and its inhabitants; the living content of its medium. Each moment we die and are born again. Nothing is permanent. As fish traveling along both banks, so do we travel between the dream state and the waking state. To understand the river, we must study fish; to understand fish, we must study the river.

The river as an all encompassing symbol contains time and eternity, life and death, as well as language and silence.

Consciousness is an ocean. After all, most of us is water — so it’s not just a metaphor.

Thoughts and emotions rise and fall like waves, shaping whole inner worlds as they come and go. Standing by the sea, there’s often a quiet sense of recognition — as if something in us meets something out there.

We’re part of it, and at the same time slightly apart. That tension — between connection and distance — is part of what it means to be human.

Our experience of the world is fluid.
